I’m a bit late in sharing this here, but the online edition of SIM South Africa’s SIMnow Winter (June) 2023 magazine is available.
This is the sixth issue I have compiled and edited, and I have been very pleased by the success the magazine has consistently had in representing what the Lord is doing through the people and ministries of SIM South Africa. Many readers and SIM officials have commended us for the quality of this “orderly account,” including one saying it’s her favorite of all the SIM magazines.
“Many have undertaken to draw up an account of the things that have been fulfilled among us, just as they were handed down to us by those who from the first were eyewitnesses and servants of the word. With this in mind, since I myself have carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I too decided to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus, so that you may know the certainty of the things you have been taught.”
Luke 1:1-4 (NIV)
Articles this time included:
- coverage of the Spiritual Life Conference (SLC), which is an annual gathering each country team holds to strengthen relationships, encourage and equip workers with new ideas and Bible messages, and worship the Lord.
- an article about SIM’s regional director for Southern Africa and his “Barnabas heart” for helping and encouraging others.
- a profile of those working behind the scenes in the leadership and services team.
- a testimony by a Bible college student about their short-term mission trip within South Africa.
Publishing this issue was a special joy personally, both because it celebrated our team’s first in-person SLC since COVID began and because it came after many challenges and delays.
You can read it online or download a copy at SIM South Africa’s website (https://sim.org.za/simnow/).
