Crosswinds Wesleyan Church 5K 2023

Our home church, Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua, NY, hosts a 5K race every September to raise money for The Spot, a community organization that provides free school supplies, clothing, food, and shoes to UPK-12 students in need within the Canandaigua and Victor school districts. This year, they raised $12,100.

Tracy used her physician assistant skills at the medical tent, and I helped with photography. Billy also volunteered.

My favorite part is capturing the runners surging around me at the start of the race. I am rather, um, “noticeable,” and I wave to the runners before they start, but someone always runs right into me or my tripod… I guess “noticeable” can also mean “hard to miss.”
Tracy captured this video, starting it just after two young runners crashed into my tripod (:10 and :11 in the first video).

We love our church and are grateful that we can each use our talents to help it and its ministries—and to express our thanks for all the support and encouragement our church gives us.
