Today is the tenth anniversary of buying the “dream camera” I’d picked out years earlier.
I happened to notice this was coming just two days ago, and that has reminded me of God’s faithfulness and providence, of the patience He often asks us to practice, and of the joy He takes in blessing His children.
Continue reading →In a few hours, the kids and I will get Tracy from the airport. There will be wide smiles, joyful shrieks, and tearful hugs. There will be wholeness and warmth and catharsis.
It could’ve been a really, really lousy day, but instead, it was a reminder of God’s ability to provide for us and change our attitudes.

So goes a frequent exchange between a joyful Billy and me. He doesn’t want me to reply in any other way, and he doesn’t want me to stop being goofy. Karen often wants me to improvise songs about broccoli from Tennessee or to tell her stories about bacon.

I try to grow in my faith and understanding, to follow Jesus ever more closely, and to speak only things that uplift, inspire, inform, or amuse.
